Pastor Leon Johnston
What a privilege it is to be a part of the church of Jesus Christ in Lacombe! I thank the Lord for the opportunity to be pastor of this church Wolf Creek Community Church (WCCC). As you may have already noticed from our website, “WCCC exists to reach out and enfold people for Jesus, together becoming devoted disciples of him.” Accordingly, we aspire to be a hospitable church. We are compelled to do so because the Lord has welcomed us into his presence, made possible by the death and resurrection of Jesus, and now we want to pass on his love to others. Happily, by nature God is a welcoming God of grace. And so we seek to welcome others. Please let us know how we can best serve you.
Let me tell you a bit about myself. I grew up on a farm near Shaunavon, SK. I was trained for pastoral ministry at Briercrest Bible College and Seminary and Calvin Theological Seminary. I have been an ordained Minister of the Word in the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA) for almost five years. I have served one church previous to WCCC. Before that, I taught for four years at two different Christian schools. My wife’s name is Joy, and we have been married for 14 years. Happily, we have been blessed with four children: Gareth, Verity, Anna and Jacobus. I enjoy cycling, walking, reading and drinking a good cup of coffee or tea.
